Ich bin eine waschechte Wienerin und liebe meinen abwechslungsreichen Beruf, den ich seit einigen Jahren hauptberuflich ausübe. Zuvor studierte ich Sprachen, Literatur und Kunstgeschichte, verbrachte ein Jahr in Mexiko, unterrichtete an einem Gymnasium, arbeitete in der Filmbranche und tourte als Reiseleiterin in Europa und Übersee.

"Just got back from spending a short weekend in Vienna. A day before I left I looked for a private tour guide of Vienna and came across a woman called Gabriela Jemelka. I sent an email, not really expecting a response at such short notice, but to my amazement Gabriela replied within a few hours and we booked a day tour. We split the tour into two - a 2 hour walking tour in the City Centre in the morning, a break for lunch and then we met up again at 3pm with a driver Gabriela arranged, for a 3-hour tour around the City. We had an excellent time with Gabriela, who proved to be very knowledgeable in all aspects (art, history, politics etc.), not imposing and most importantly - she "understood" us very well pretty quickly. We were three in our early 30's, didn't want to do very heavy-duty sightseeing, just to enjoy ourselves and she picked up on this pretty quickly and went along with it. She took us to places we wouldn't have found on our own, and was very attentive to any request we had, big or small. How do we evaluate our time with Gabriela? We learned a great deal about Vienna and its history. We saw many things we wouldn't have seen on a big commercial tour. We experienced Vienna at our pace. Gabriela delivered first-rate service, meeting us at our hotel, arranging for outstanding concert tickets, joining us for lunch and snacks, and accompanying us to a U-Bahn stop near our hotel in the First District. "We have just returned from a visit to Europe, and we wanted to tell you about our full day tour with Gabriela. We only had a short time in Vienna, and speak very little German. We had pre-arranged a 6 hour tour with Gabriela, and she came and met us at in the morning at our hotel to start the day.
Gabriela is a beautiful linguist, speaking many languages. She was professional, but fun. She let us tell her what we wanted to do, and was cheerful when we suggested a "break" for mid-afternoon refreshments. You will find Gabriela easy to be with, very helpful, accommodating of whatever pace you/your group needs, and in general a lovely person.
Of course you never know when you are arranging things over the Internet, and if the plans would actually work. But Gabriela is very good at what she does, and it is worth every penny (or Euro!) to have an individual, personal tour arranged. We give her the highest recommendations, and thank you to Gabriela for a wonderful visit to Wien. We will sign up for another tour on our next visit to Austria! We had such a good time in Vienna. We loved the city and you were fabulous. Informative, fun and a great guide. The porcelain arrived fine and I bought another piece in Hungary. Who knows if they are good but I like them and I am learning so be ready for my next visit; we will go shopping :)

Due to a change of travel plans my wife and I were going to be in Vienna for just 3 days before traveling to Poland. Before leaving for the airport I emailed Gabriela Jemelka. By the time I arrived at the airport we had communicated several times through email and had the date, time and meeting place set for the very next day. At 2pm Monday, Gabriela met us at our hotel gave us a quick briefing of our three hour tour and we were off. Due to the time limitations of our visit I had asked for an overview of the city so my wife and I could go back the next day to the areas we saw for more detail. Our expectation were not only met but exceeded. The travel route through the city was excellent and well laid out we saw areas and venues that we would have never found on our own with a book or bus tour. At the end of the tour Gabriela sat with us to go over the city map, recommend restaurants, markets and a winery outside the city. That night we tried one of her dinning recommendations and were not disappointed. Our one full day in Vienna (Tuesday) was made perfect by the foundation built by Gabriela the day before. One of our highlights on the trip to Vienna was the trip to the winery something we would have never seen if not for Gabriela. Gabriela, igualmente ha sido un placer para nosotros poder compartir unas horas con tigo, la verdad es que nos habría gustado poder estar mas tiempo y poder disfrutarmucho masde tus conocimientosy de tu compañía.
Lo pasamos muy bien y nos hemos llevado un grato recuerdo de Viena, es una ciudad que nos ha hechizado, tanto por la gente que hemos tratado, como porlos lugares que hemos visitado. Con un poco de retraso te respondo. Nos encantó el concierto y haber conocido el Konzerthaus, que es espléndido. Sobre el Plachutta, la comida excelente y la atención amable pero un poco desordenada; gracias por recomendarme el Tafelspitz.

We had a great time in Vienna. We loved the MAK restaurant and the Demel and Segway, the Danube. It was all fantastic. Thanks for your great suggestions. Your city is incredible. Wish we had more time to stay. The palace was horribly crowded though, so would not want to do that again. Difficult to move around with so many tourists.

En Schönbrunn acabamos recogidendo los jardines; al día siguiente el desayuno en el Demel fue espectacular; volvimos a Hofburg a visitar el Tesoro imperial y luego al Belvedere para acabar comiendo codillo en Salm Bräu.
